A toy network is being set up in Zumaia to give a face mask to all citizens
- Zumaia City Hall wants to send a reusable face mask to all Zumaia's neighbours, including boys and girls. The City Hall has obtained the right material for its manufacture, they have asked anyone who has a sewing machine or knows how to sewing it to complete the network and collaborate in the elaboration of masks.
Recommendations for the use of the mask for outdoor practice are becoming more and more widespread. In this sense, the City of Zumaia wants to make a useful mask available to all citizens free of charge. About 10,000 people live in Zumaia today. To this end, it has appealed to the companies and the voluntary disturbances of the Biscay region.
The City Council of Zumaia has explained that in recent days it has been working on how to create masks safely, following preventive measures, and once defined, it has appealed to the people’s seamstresses and citizens who have sewing machines to build the network. The City Hall will provide the materials. Decotena will be responsible for cutting the fabric with which the appropriate tissue has already been recovered. Subsequently, the material will be delivered to the homes of the volunteers who have enrolled in the network, to sewing face masks at home. They have also prepared a tutorial video on how to sew the mask.
Disposable face masks 300 times
The City Hall clarifies that the generation of masks is a “polypropylene Sarga type” fabric, which “fulfills the antimicrobial barrier function and has a proven efficacy of 99.3%”. “As it complies with the EN13795 standard,” the City Hall has stressed that it is useful to generate masks suitable for washing and use 300 times.
For boys and girls, they will follow the following general criteria. Mask small size for 3-5 years, medium for 6-9 years and high for 9-12 years. For those over 12 years it will be the same size and model as adults.
Next to the mask, the City Hall of Zumaia will distribute the criteria for use.
