AP-8 workers announce 11 days strike in June and July
- AP-8 workers will report job cuts and changes in working conditions made by GESBISA during the 11-day strike in June and July.
ELA announces an 11-day strike for AP-8 workers. Strike days will be 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25, 29 and 30 June and 1, 2 and 3 July. The company GESBISA will denounce, inter alia, the reduction of jobs and the deterioration of working conditions. It stresses that the negotiations are "deadlocked", as the negotiating table has been suspended for 18 months.
GESBISA is a public service subcontracted by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia through the Interbiak public society. ELA says that although the negotiation is blocked, the Member does not face its responsibility. In addition, the union accuses GESBISA of not responding to workers’ demands. That is why the Works Council has asked the Member not to stand in favour of the company in this conflict.
