The writer and researcher Elias Ambeka (Bilbao, 1921) died on the 13th at his home in Getxo (Bizkaia) at the age of 86. He collaborated in several newspapers and published more than 60 works, among them the work Autores Vascos, composed of ten volumes of books. He received biographies of 12,000 men and women in this work, and when it was published he was named an emeritus member of the organization by the Association of Friends of the Basque Country. He was awarded the Manuel Lekona Prize in 2005.
The Imaginary music group Kerobia has announced that it has left the SGAE and will self-produce its new work, Organic Matter and others. The disc will be placed on the network (www.kerobia.com) and all content will be freely downloadable. There will also be an opportunity to shop in stores starting on the 29th.
Biarritz Ballet Junior (director and choreographer Thierry Malandain reports that the company will be disbanded in July due to tensions between Biarritz Ballet and Dantzaz. After the dissolution of the Ballet Junior in Biarritz, the members of the company will create a project of the same type.

Works by the lithographer Miquel Barcelo (Felanitx, Mallorca, 1957) have been exhibited at the Okendo Cultural Center in San Sebastián. The exhibition, called The Gesture of Nature, brings together twenty-four paintings on paper and will be open until June 7. All the works were made between 1990 and 2002 and have been divided into three main sections by the artist: Mali, Lanzarote and Paris.
