Opposition to the Spanish Constitution on the street and in the workplace
- The official calendar for the commemoration of the anniversary of the Spanish Constitution in the Southern Basque Country was established on December 6. The most massive mobilization took place in Durango, convened by the Independentista network.
In the aftermath of the demonstration, Maite Aristegi described the holiday in honour of the Constitution as an offensive imposition, adding that the best way for the Basque Country to ensure its survival is to “proclaim the Basque Republic”.
Aristegi recalls that the Spanish Constitution closes the doors of sovereignty to the Basque Country and adds that its DNA and that of Francoism is the same DNA. “DNA without democracy and social justice.”
There has also been a demonstration in Bilbao, called by Ernai and Patriotic Students to “confront the regime of 78”. In addition, the Basque National School has been proclaimed. On the other hand, popular classes have been held in various places in the morning.
