It's the end of the 1980s in Euskal Herria, and punk pil-pil will give no more surprises. The previous generation has drunk from the bowels and from England, but their descendants do not have the same freshness as they do. In a neighborhood in Donostia-San Sebastian, some young boys and girls, turning their backs on RRV, want to distinguish politics and music, and focus more on American punk groups. In the occupied house Buenawixta was born the group La Perrera. A Single, several extreme concerts, a disco and farewell. Today this group is a benchmark for many, but at the time it had some faithful but very few fans.
In 1993 two members of the kennel founded New Catolic Catechism; and two others created Mr. No. They've had parallel journeys, they've revitalized the punk rock, they've shared energy and they've offered spectacle: the first opened, reinvented and dignified the orthodoxy of the punk rock, while Mr. Nok has always had more high-energy, barbarism and that melancholic rogue of losers like Bukowsky.
Its main motor and composer, an impressive guitarist, and the beast of the stage, Xabi Garre, have always been present to MC5, Stooges, Motörhead, The River Trapera Band, Burning, The Who, Rocky Erickson and Union Carbide Productions, among others. The golden age of Lord No was huge (Xabi guitar and voice, Mikel bass, Andoni drums and Imanol on another guitar) and four long albums full of ferocity and poetry (Lord No–94, No World–96, Don’t speak to me–99 and I will always tell you no–2003). Later, in 2003, the acoustic Mr. Yes was recorded live, which was modified by some of the participants.
From there, the group has not had the continuity it had until then, although Xabi has always had the rudder of the boat and has been accompanied by musicians such as Fumay, Yarza or Guantxe, among others. These few performances have been carried out as a group of Roy Loney, creator of the great Flaming Groovies group, and also recently with Cheetah Chrome, of Dead Boys.
Now, after a long parenthesis, the group comes reinforced, with a great time in shape and with a long disc under the arm: Ez always change. Fumay in the bass, Fosy in the drums and Jorge in the other guitar of León, keeping the most powerful lead the group has had for a long time. The great state of misery of Big Sandy, Dogo and the Mercenaries in Que bien lo me pasa y siete nuevos canciones. High voltage rock guitarist, with a penetrating melody, power-pop, psychedelia, armonica, wah-wah pedalera, sitarra, piano, high-energy and increasingly evident the soul of The Soundtrack Of Our Lives in the air.
