Immersed in information networks, I have come to some information about digital activism. When I think of digital activists, I also think of ways of organizing, not all of us—and addressing problems equally. Some approach digital activism from communication, others create communities of knowledge, and there are those who seek to influence tools and infrastructures, among others.
It has just been a forum for digital activism in Palestine. How do geochemists manage to shape the world view that we have? What remains silent? How Does Artificial Intelligence Create Exclusion? And how can we respond when disinformation is used to tell lies and/or to inhumanity?
Perhaps the most widespread attitude we have towards the Palestinian people in our country is that they are committing genocide. That Israel is a people led by a group of psychopathic fanatics, driven by greed to seize the wealth of Palestine, an infamous group that has dehumanized the Palestinians.
But this is not the case all over the world, the stories are very different in the United States of America, for example. And in this country the practice of surveillance has prevailed by the government. The master’s tools will never dismantle the master’s house, the practice of not using digital tools linked to the United States is beginning to spread in that locality, and lists have begun to be created to disseminate knowledge, to offer alternatives, such as the following.
In order to impede the power of artificial intelligence to influence stories, not only are alternative tools being used, but also lists of tools to sabotage artificial intelligence are appearing, for example, created by the Algorithmic Sabotage Research Group (ASRG). In their own words, “the tools necessary to oppose the geochemical practices that are currently harmful to humanity and to reimagine the digital model we have”.
