"Do not sign or deliver your HC to Mutualia"
- On May 5, Osakidetza and Mutualia signed a collaboration agreement to allow doctors from both organizations direct access to medical records and records in the case of the population served by both services. The LAB union denounces that "it seems that this is not just about obtaining information, but that from both institutions new information can be included in the files of the people cared for and in the medical records". LAB warns of the risks this may entail and calls on the public not to sign their consent.
On 3 May the agreement between Osakidetza-Basque Health Service and Mutualia was signed for access to medical records and records of the citizens cared for (here the news was given by the Government). Through this agreement, and through tools and computer applications, the health staff of the Mutual Societies will have the opportunity to know the medical records of their patients, their history, treatments being received, tests, diagnostic tests, etc. But LAB denounces that "it seems that it is not just a matter of obtaining information, but that from both institutions new information can be included in the files of the people cared for and in the medical records. Theoretically, with the express consent of the patients".
Risks due to Mutualia's interference in the Osakidetza files
LAB complains that: "This is sold to us as an improvement, we think it is very serious and dangerous for professionals outside the health system to access the health system. This violates the right to confidentiality of medical data as a user of the public health system of Osakidetza and may seriously impair the doctor-patient relationship of the public health system, as it may happen that the attention or harm they cause in the world of work is not wanted to be recorded in their medical history."
Therefore, the LAB Union has called on the working class not to authorize Mutualia to enter their medical reports "either expressly or in writing, to directly access the workers' reports in any of the areas of collaboration legally attributed by the Social Security to each other, such as the contingencies of occupational accidents and diseases, temporary incapacity derived from the common contingency, cancer pregnancy and minors. Do not sign. Do not submit your medical history to Mutualia.”
