FAO and WHO, at their Food Conference in November, have again acknowledged that the food system of this unequal world has not eliminated hunger and has increased obesity, thereby reducing life expectancy. Their concern is how the industry does not produce harmful food. The ball is therefore in the decision-makers’ court, on the palaces of the Heads of State and the authorities.
We will think that Christmas will not solve this problem; on the contrary, purchases, meals and waste will also be left over this year. And maybe we remember the most remote times in yearning.
However, the excesses of the beginning of the year have their roots in tradition, for this is a time dedicated to the preparation and reception of gifts. So did those who, after begging (“Patakon, to what does not have the one who has”), joined the collection. Only one difference, and not a small one: few occasions to satisfy the people of that time. The obesity of the rich world now has not been brought by the bulging that is eaten in Christmas Eve. Vegans go further and for the good of all: According to the GIEC, the production of food from animals generates more harmful gases than transport. Non-speculators bring us closer to friendship among all living beings, perhaps with the desire to reach the golden age. The world will not see a revolution of caliber... But who knows where he will go, if he will put aside cruelty and turn to civilization.
Meanwhile, a coarse liver recipe. Take a duck and book. To take the corn and red beans, tomato and onion. Make two parts of these components and a reserve. Add the flour, salt and pepper to taste and mix well. Hot heat service. Give the portion reserved to the duck. Then, when satiety softens the liver of both and in a miracle of Christmas, the duck starts to give thanks and the feet of the Sicilian stalks turn into palms, bingo! Two chimeras for a utopia!
