IV Fair of Ziburu. The edition will recognize you. You haven't been to give a lot of impact to your work. How do you feel?

Doing such a recognition means that you are many years old, but I am going to choose Euskera as a recognition made in favor of the Basque. I am an Basque worker and I am glad of recognition. In Iparralde every year there is a great deal of work being done to look at his language, and I also regard it as a support for it.

Literature serves many to free feelings. What is it for you?

In the literature, feelings are used a lot. The onset of feeling is making people feel. He is a writer, an artistic worker who uses the word to express something.

Storytelling, poetry, chronicle and collection have all dealt with it. And journalism. What kind do you stay with?

I've been very excited about journalism and radio work. Talking to people gives you a lot to do with your home country, and that's what I've felt the most. All other genera are expressive means and are selected according to their nature. Life itself also greatly influences what it does. Writing is a great job, it requires perseverance and I've loved to have the world with words. Chronicles, radio broadcasts, interviews -- this gives the writer and creator a great connection with his country.

“Who writes in Basque in Iparralde?” they asked their heads 40 years ago at the beginning of May magazine. Who worked?

The priest Pierre Lafite spoke of 300 writers and 300 readers in the Basque Country. 40 years ago the Northern Basque Country changed and a new generation emerged with people working in school and university. In France, the left entered the government. And nationalism and vasquism were also united. The Basque slow world bored us, great changes were taking place in the world and in society, and here too there were changes: feminism, the environment, sovereignty... Taking the floor became important and, today, I believe it will be a great engine for the future, because that is how society must change. I was immersed in the new radio station and lived with passion with the citizens, with the Basque, with the Basque Country for the future.

How are witnesses to bring May?

As always, children take control of their parents. In any society you see a generation criticizing the few novelties. However, I do not know what our witnesses will look like. We are doing everything for free, the subsidies we have are a small part of our budget. May lives with our enthusiasm and ambition, and neighbours, like Euskal Herria, will have to count on Euskera lovers and people lovers.

You said: “I don’t want to be resigned, although everything shows me that this world is disappointing.” Is this how the world continues?

No. It's disappointing if you stand still as a blower. In Iparralde people take the floor, do activities, young people create many things... Disappointment does not bring anything good. While we live, there is solidarity, there is a lot of hope among us. I have no doubt about that, but that global desperation is also there, violence, wars, misery -- they also need a solution. The solution here and there is solidarity.

And our corners, how are they in this 2023?

We must speak with humility. Reality never looks good. At this time, economic data have a false priority at the global level. In the north are big bets, but also strengths. A savage urbanism is being created on the coast, but the interior being emptied is now being strengthened with new farmers, which is very hopeful from the environmental and new life point of view. There is a strong generation from Zuberoa to the coast of Lapurdi. Culture is a powerful agent for the advancement of things, including in politics and economics. There is no fear. We need to reflect on how we can live and how we can take these big bets. However, the world is first changed around it and solidarity is the basis of sovereignty.

The fourth edition of the Ziburu Fair will be held. How do you see its development?

The Baltsan association has made a great commitment and it is urgent that the Basque country has its living spaces, especially on this coast. Ziburu and San Juan de Luz occupy a prominent place in the history of Basque literature and are preparing to take the witness in Balsa. That is to be welcomed. The fair is the day of the Basque Country and, in addition, a day to strengthen relations with readers, editors, writers and Euskaltzales in general.
