First, the WHO and UNESCO point out the importance of designing and implementing a comprehensive training program in sexual education in teaching. In fact, it is common for the issue of sexuality to be taboo in homes, and the centers are the best field for informing and resolving doubts. To do this, teachers should receive training in this matter through specialists in sexology, who will have to go to the classes to talk about sexuality with the students. Cooperation and parental protection must, however, be developed on a regular basis. One of the most effective ways to increase communication between parents and children regarding sexuality is to assign to students the tasks they have worked at school, so that they can talk about sexuality at home with their parents.
UNESCO states in its International Technical Guidelines on Sexuality report that early childhood education should begin. To do so, the contents corresponding to each stage must be worked out. It is essential to develop different pedagogical projects that encourage debate and meeting. These projects should focus on the cognitive, emotional, physical and social aspects of sexuality and should go beyond providing contraceptive information. Develop ideas and reflections on attitudes, awareness and consequences.
When we talk about sexuality, we refer to the emotions and feelings present in the ways of caring, enjoying and respecting the body of oneself and the other person, taking into account the uniqueness of each person. Its guarantee goes through the transmission of knowledge of the diversity of human relations. For example, sexual orientation or different forms of family organization. In this way, people will have a more objective knowledge of sexuality and the taboos will be eliminated.
In short, comprehensive sex education allows students to ensure their health and well-being. In fact, it gives them knowledge of the attitudes and skills they need in the sexual sphere. The goal is to learn knowledge based on values to enjoy healthy, dignified and respectful sexuality. The principles of human rights are the basis of comprehensive sexual education programmes that contribute to the promotion of gender equality and the rights and empowerment of young people. All this will allow preventing many diseases, knowing one's own body and avoiding violent or sexist behaviors between genders.
