The other day I went to a place I hadn’t visited in a long time and I liked it so much. While I was there, I felt at ease and thought: this is my favorite place. Amulet, amulet, amulet; the word turns and turns on the way home. Curiosity led me to look for it in Elhuyar and it looked like an amulet. But no, I thought I'd prefer to pronounce amulet. Because I imagine my favorite places as special, admirable and peaceful, and not the favorite places. Maybe because favorite places are not so favorite for me. Amulet: a word that I haven’t heard in a long time, a word that I like so much and that I haven’t spoken in a long time. Like that favorite place I haven't visited in a long time. I began to think about why I don’t use that word as much or receive it from the outside and came to a conclusion: It doesn't fit anywhere. It does not fit in my daily sentences, there is no time to pronounce it.
Just as there is no time to pronounce the word amulet, there is almost no time to think about favorite places, objects and/or people. There are multiple obligations, the agenda is full and the favorites are not kabi. Because this is the phrase for self-esteem and well-being today: Keep your mind occupied, if you are more and more active and do more and more things you will feel better.
We are getting more and more stimuli, social networks as an example of this. And we want to do more and more things, we set more and more goals and obligations to ourselves from the moment we wake up to the moment we go to bed. And it's better if we can dream about the exam training that we'll have the day after we go to bed. Anxiety will eventually eat us, but we also prescribe to occupy and distract the mind to fight anxiety and depression, in order not to think about it. But what if that's the problem? If the obsession with keeping the mind occupied is the cause of suffering?
Maybe we should take a little more time to listen and pronounce the word of choice. Maybe we should visit those of our favorite places more often. Go to these favorite places, interrupt your life for a moment, breathe, enjoy the place, and stay. Learn to “waste time” in it to put the screws of life back into action. And if you find the strength to make the world more favorite, it wouldn't be bad either. But if you don’t find the strength to do it, bet on making our inner world more favorite; going more to favorite places, staying more with favorite people and admiring favorite objects more. Thus, living life more favorably.
