The AHTrik EZ Llanada platform has announced that a demonstration will be held on June 23 in Agurain. On Friday, representatives of the political parties of the General Assemblies of Álava were watching the damage that the High-Speed Railway project to connect Pamplona-Vitoria-Gasteiz would cause in the Llanada, which was received by the citizens raising their arguments against the project.
The project foresees a strong impact in this area. In fact, they would have to make a trench that would be 900 meters long, 100 meters wide and 22 meters deep. As a result, the town would be isolated between the highway and the train.
The platform has started the line of initiatives through the mountain march organized last Saturday to the cross of Mirutegi.
Conferences in Agurain
In addition, on June 15, the Sala Muralla de Agurain will host a conference starting at 19:00. The speakers will be Iñigo Leza, spokesperson for the platform, Lierni Altuna, mayor of Aramaio, and David Hoyos and Josu Larrinaga, teachers and experts of the UPV/EHU.
