Gladys del Estal will be honored on Sunday for the 46th anniversary of her murder
- The association Gladys Memoria and Sol have organized this Sunday an event in honor of the ecologist Gladys del Estal. Gladys del Estal was killed 46 years ago by the Civil Guard in Tudela during an anti-nuclear mobilization. It happened on June 3, 1979, in the context of the police harassment of nuclear power and a mobilization against the Bardenas Shooting Range.
At 11:30 they will leave the boulevard with their bicycles and at 12:00 they will meet at the door of the park to climb to the monolith that remembers Gladys in the pilgrimage. It is where the main event will take place, where the prequel, the flower offering and the music will be present.
This year’s event will place special emphasis on opposition to war and militarism, No War! Under the motto. In this context, Iñaki Otamendi, member of the Antimilitarist Action for Peace of the Basque Delegation of the Centre Delas d’Estudis per la Pau, will participate.
