The undisputed. In the opinion of the media, as for the ETB news commentator, the Euskal Y project has become an impossible response after the murder of Inazio Uria. Instead of raising doubts and doubts, a murder not only creates fear and impatience, but also shields the project in the eyes of its promoters. If for fifteen long years Basque environmentalism has dealt with arguments and numerous mobilizations against this infrastructure, denial and ignorance have been the official answers. There has never been a serious contrast to the debate and the arguments, now they say it’s impossible.

The unstoppable one. It’s not easy to lose so much public money. The interests and impulses of the invisible hands are very present. However, unlike what has happened in the whole of Spain, a broad social movement against the AVE has been formed here, with many and different participants, including the trade union majority and a member government of Vitoria-Gasteiz. In the last municipal elections, a reference issue, in 18 of the 42 municipalities in the Basque Country’s history, opposition to the AHT prevailed. Perhaps this is not enough to stop the project, but it obviously gives the opposition a high degree of legitimacy. The one that gets lost with bullets.

The invincible one. The short history of ecological conflicts in the Basque Country is dominated by the mythology of interferences. These days, after the murder of Azpeitia, we have been reminded of Lemoiz and Leitzaran, the only symbols are the dead of ETA. It's curious not to mention Itoiz very much. Some were rubbing their hands to see when armed violence would appear to guide the AAV issue in line with the state’s motive. And it happened. The lead arguments have strengthened Levia-than. Now and here, with the echoes of bullets and armed violence, the aspirations of the population are neither legitimized nor won. That's the wrong way. The corrupt degeneration of politics.

The unsustainable one. I am confident that the militarization of the AAV issue will not overcome the failure of the model. It will become longer, more expensive, more absurd, that is. And basically more unsustainable. This transport model makes no sense in our country, neither economically, nor from the logic of ecosystems, nor for a sustainable transport policy. However, in this story, the feet of clay appear more wet. We have the transport model!
