The expression ‘a lot of noise and a few nuts’, known in Spanish – literally ‘a lot of noise, few nuts’ – has a very similar equivalence in Basque: “Distant nuts fourteen, approach you and four.” I would prefer the nut pandemic to that of the coronavirus, but since we have the second, and unfortunately with no intention of ending soon, it occurs to me that the companies that created the vaccine can be assigned two sayings.
The U.S. pharmaceutical company Pfizer, which has invaded our daily lives, especially famous to date among consumers Sildenafil (Viagra) and Lorazepam (Orfidal, anxiolytic), has just announced that adults (+80) will need the fourth dose of their vaccine to beat the coronavirus.
As you can read on the company website (www.pfizer.com/news/articles), Dr. Alejandro Cané, Head of Science and Health of the company, said What is a Variant? report: “Although COVID-19 vaccines have worked pretty well (...), some mutation of the future can change the virus that defeats the vaccine.”
-They haven't had two bites for a long time and look for the third one. They've received four orders and tomorrow fourteen."
Only two years ago those who sold “90% protection” with a couple of doses and said that the inclusion of 70% of the vulnerable groups was “sufficient”, were not content with two bites and have long been looking for the third. They have received four orders and tomorrow fourteen. How can we believe a plan that promises a 90% profit and only reaches 50%?
Yes, it is true that there are vaccines that ask for doses of memory, such as tetanus (J. Alberto, the fascinating world of microbes). The latter provides five doses... a lifetime. The COVID-19 issue now needs four, within two years. “But the flu also applies every year to vulnerable groups!” That, to the vulnerable, not to those over the age of 16.
Cané has recognized that the new mutations can overcome the Comirnaty vaccine created by Pfizer and BioNTech and that the vaccine does not completely prevent the spread. This is well known: I myself ate the virus at a dinner at which we were all vaccinated, on their omicron. Why order another dose if the new mutations come in the mail?
The vaccine menu was also varied at the beginning, but in the end we can only take Spikevax from Comirnaty Moderna. What Oxford University had prepared with AstraZeneca was bloody, and Johnson&Johnson's Guillain-Barré syndrome, called champagne. The risks of myocarditis or pericarditis that appear in both Comirnaty and Spikevax leaflets are not so much – and we know that in the global market there are only two very common options since the time of Eduard Bernays.
I can agree with Cané when he says that vaccination has worked well in concrete aspects, at least in terms of reducing ICU collapse. However, the pollution rates do not say so, and this, at least in Hego Euskal Herria, is integrated in more than 90% of the population.
Still, I think the anxiolytic Orfidal is the most effective doctor Pfizer has ever created: In December 2020, in the midst of a pandemic, a pharmacist told me that he had sold it as never before. He did not mention Viagra, perhaps because what we have below the organ that predicts this drug can no longer exaggerate us, as it does, according to the latest information, the contamination curve. We probably miss the fifth dose.
