According to data published by the General Council of Notaries, the sale of homes by foreigners in the autonomous communities of the Spanish state has increased in the second half of 2017.

Among the most significant increases is that of Navarre, with 34%, with 260 transactions. Together with a 23.4% increase in sales in the Basque Country with 532 transactions, the figures collected in the Southern Basque Country exceed the national average.

Among the data it draws attention without living in the South Basque Country, the origins of the people who buy their home here. They are mainly from the French State (17% in the Basque Country and 57% in Upper Navarre), but the information provided does not specify how many of them are from the Northern Basque Country.

Equally striking is the number of Americans who have bought a house in Navarre: 29% of those who have bought a house without living there are from the United States. If compared with last year’s data, the figures collected during this period highlight a 57.4% increase in the sale of homes by foreigners in the Southern Basque Country.
