The prisoners Joseba Arrangi and GARIKOITZ García will be transferred to the Basque Country and Alicia Sáez de la Cuesta, Ugaitz Pérez and Iñaki Armendariz
- Ibon Etxezarreta, a neighbour of Zaballa, has been recognized with the third prison grade. The Spanish penitentiary institution has reported on the precautionary measures taken by the National Police.
Penitentiary institutions in Spain have decided to repatriate and bring two Basque political prisoners closer: Joseba Arrangi Erostarbe and GARIKOITZ García Arrieta will be transferred to Martutene and Zaballa, respectively; Alicia Sáez de la Cuesta and Ugaitz Pérez Zorriketa will approach Logroño, while Iñaki Armendariz Izagirre will approach Burgos.
Joseba Arrangi has been serving 30 years in Asturias since 2000. Ugaitz Pérez and Alicia Saéz de la Cuesta Castelló are in Madrid’s Madrid prison. Iñaki Armendariz will be transferred to Herrera prison, and to GARIKOITZ García Picaseent, where he will be placed in pre-trial detention. All of them have long sentences, between 20 and 30 years old.
