Gendarmes evacuate Hazparne's gaztetxe

In defense of the gaztetxe, several mobilizations and concentrations were carried out both on the day of eviction and on September 4, when more than 200 people demonstrated.
In addition to the facts, the young people denounced through a press release that the City Hall had deaf ears and had not offered them any solutions. Mayor Isabelle Pargade did not want to contact the owners of the occupied building, apparently because they did not want to talk to them.
In addition, young people also denounced the "lies" used to expel young people in the order of dismissal: The communiqué stated that the building was owned by Micheline Jeanne Casaux, 95, and that the youth had occupied their residence. However, the assembly explained that Davidenea has been abandoned for a long time.
They added that occupation was their last choice: “Although we have chosen illegal action, we have always preferred dialogue and negotiation.” In an “empty city” without cultural proposals, they explained that they wanted to bring together all the citizens and create a space to “dynamize” Hazparne with cultural activities.
