What do you think of organizing this Book and Disc Fair?
The idea emerged after Euskaraldia, and it fulfills two objectives that excite me especially: on the one hand, to organize a fair of books and records in Euskera, since in Ipar Euskal Herria it is not so, often the creation and production in Euskera are asphyxiated in Spanish; and on the other, our goal is always to Euskaldunizar the Plaza of Ziburu, and take a one step further.
From the hand of Ziburu and the Baltsan Association. Ziburu and Baltsan: proper names we frequently hear.
Knowing that they are heard often is a good brand! The Baltsan association was founded seven years ago and since then we have tried to propose various cultural and popular events, and from our small group I believe we have managed to be a reference to Basque culture at local level. That is no small thing!
This time it has seemed natural to join with the journal Argia, because we share the same values, Euskaldun, solidary and sovereign, acting from a young age.
What do you expect from the day?
We have been preparing this day with a lot of enthusiasm, and being the first edition, it generates a lot of expectation. What I hope is that people will approach, both ziburutarras and not, because publishers and writers have responded very positively, and that we will live a good time together, simply waltz!
And, of course, I hope that the first Saturday of June will become the annual meeting of the Ziburu Basque book and album fair.
On the other hand, he has just published the album Zimurrak baleki.Tercera co-production with H-Eden. Why -- this work?
If the wrinkle knew it, we just got it out, and after many journeys and obstacles, we're happy! The album was released in collaboration with the new ear label. The work, composed of 12 songs and two poems, invites you to travel in an intimate folk environment.
In Baleki, consoling melancholy is kept alive, anchoring depends on the warmth of popular music, both local and external. This rooting allows us to open up, bringing the contemporary expression that Josean San Miguel has brought us to new landscapes and sonic textures. For the rest, Pat Tetevuide is the craftsman who has shaped the songs and who has worked in the string quartet of Lerman Nieves.
My family is always close to me: Unai's son in the mailbox, his daughter Nahia in the percussions, his nephew Iñaki in the percussions. Xano, the faithful friend of always, on the accordion... from the first album. Finally, Michel Claudio has stitched mandolin and Cristina Vertiz the violin job, and Petti has offered us an emotional collaboration.
Something else?
Come, children, adults, old and young!
