The police closed the only newspaper published in curvo in Turkey: Azadiya Welat. The name in Basque means Free People. On charges of belonging to the terrorist group, 27 journalists were arrested. It was created as a weekly in 1990 and since 2006 it was a newspaper. Since the creation of the newspaper, the attacks of the Government of Turkey have been constant: temporary closures and arrests of journalists and distributors. Since its founding, 30 journalists have been killed by the Turkish police. The project changed its name – Rojev – and continued to report in its language, doing high-risk journalism.
