It is not in our hands for Israel to step back in the aim of destroying the Palestinian people. And we are not going to be the ones who are going to stop the genocide being done in front of everyone. Even so, look the other way. And yet, we cannot fail to look for opportunities to do what is in our hands. I will not answer the question what else we can do because I do not know. But I would say that, overcome by the gravity of the situation, we eliminate the value of any small step. And starting to think about big, decisive steps, we drowned in our smallness.
And what as workers? Where is the possibility of our work being damaged in an office that represents and cares for Israel’s interests? How can we ensure that genocide is not a business in companies that have economic relations with Israel?
Boycott as consumers. Because we are internationalists, because there are still many people who can make their own voices and demands. And what as workers? Where is the possibility of our work being damaged in an office that represents and cares for Israel’s interests? How can we ensure that genocide is not a business in companies that have economic relations with Israel?
One possibility is to take steps in these types of companies, when we are seeing that mobilisations have fallen short. Among other things, removing those connections and those businesses, denouncing them, making them unacceptable in the eyes of citizens. Pressure on workplaces and on the street.
That's what we can do as workers, and it's no small thing. Companies are despite having business in Israel. And they need an ideal environment and environment, where local institutions are also fundamental in internationalization strategies, where they need comfort and tranquility.
