Among the 47 defendants are the parents of 38 children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Of those 38 years, 25 have a maximum of six. In other words: They were not born at the time of the first arrests related to summary 11/13. Currently, there are 113 cases of political conflict in the Basque Country, so the number of children in prison one or both parents would rise by one third.

Sare presented in November 2017 the report Children with Backpack. The report lists the most common psychological symptoms that children who have one or both parents in prison usually present: early development, anxiety, guilt, sleep disturbance, fear of loss, anger or hopelessness. The suffering generated by jail not only in children, but also in parents, family and close people is very great and diverse.
