The Basque Government, through the Basque Institute of Finance, will make financial investments with a debt of one billion euros. The Basque Institute of Finance has requested the consultancy KPMG to “define an action plan to support the transition/transformation of the business and industrial fabric of the Basque Country through financial instruments”. It is stated that the plan would be developed in conjunction with the entire financial and investment ecosystem of the Basque Country.
The assignment took place on April 14 and was formalized on May 9. The cost of the service provided by KPMG is 181,500 euros. The competition was attended by six consulting firms. KPMG Asesores obtained the best score in “value reviews”. In the total “formula score” another company won.
KPMG announced on April 9 that it had hired Arantxa Tapia, Minister of Industry of the previous three legislatures, to work as a consultant. According to the media Eldiario.es, the former counselor will have a fixed remuneration of 180,000 euros per year for the provision of advisory services to KPMG, plus a maximum variable of 50,000 euros.
