"Change is underway and unstoppable"
- EH Bildu has shown satisfaction in the election assessment. They have recognised that the PNV has won in votes and they have congratulated it, but they have tied up in the seats and have also left 100,000 more.
Arnaldo Otegi has been greeted with the “Jo ta ke” cry by the followers of EH Bildu, who answered them by releasing “Gora Euskal Herria”. It highlights the historic outcome of the sovereign left. He looked at the national perspective from the outset, stressing that in Hego Euskal Herria the Abertzale left has for the first time overcome the barrier of 400,000 votes (he added those of the previous foreign elections in Navarre).
He points out that they have pulled 100,000 more and that it is the first force in Álava, Vitoria and Gipuzkoa. “We have met all the challenges we had: over 300,000 votes and we have achieved about 350,000, we wanted to be close to 30 seats and we have 27, and we have overcome the 400,000 votes barrier in Euskal Herria.” The followers have responded with a little independence.
And he has also pointed to another short-term challenge, which is the first force in Euskal Herria in the forthcoming elections to the European Parliament, from 6 to 9 June.
Pello Otxandiano follows: “We have had fantastic results” and stresses that they have obtained almost 100,000 more votes, have changed the political map of the CAV and have moved the situation to another era. “Four years ago we had 10 seats [the PNV], and now 0. We are at the heart of the political map and therefore on a good path”. He said firmly, "Change is underway and it is unstoppable."
He tells the followers that there are two ways to read the elections: one, “we have achieved the best result in history”; two, “there is a popular mandate from the popular point of view”, to make a leap in sovereignty and strengthen public policies in the next legislature.
That the next Parliament will be the most open Parliament of all time and also the Left, and it undertakes to replace the left-wing votes that have not been represented.
