Call for boycott of Mayumana’s concert in San Sebastian in solidarity with Palestine
- On Saturday the Israeli band Mayumana will perform at the Kursaal in San Sebastián. As has happened in many other places, a boycott call has been made by solidarity groups with Palestine, which have called for a rally at 6.30 p.m. in the Kursaal.
Israel violates the basic human rights of Palestinians, says the United Nations, among many other actors. It continues to build a wall of hundreds of kilometres, illegal settlements, the theft of natural resources, the demolition of houses and rampant military attacks.
Despite 50 years of Palestinian resistance of all kinds, the Israeli Government is not moving. As a powerful opportunity to change this, internationally oriented, Palestinian activists launched a boycott and divestment campaign under the name of BDS. In ten years, citizens, authorities and governments are joining the boycott.
Netanyahu himself has pointed out that the boycott “is growing exponentially” and has become “one of the main dangers for the State of Israel.” The campaign has become the main source of hope for the Palestinians.
