The ELB, Lurzaindia and Ostia networks revolutionize the lands of the Marien de Canbo
- On the 17th of May, the public is invited to attend and make an appointment to grow vegetables. To this karia they have completed a full day program in favor of having the lands of Marienea confiscated for cultivation.
The ELB, Lurzaindia and Ostia networks carried out a symbolic action on April 30: The Marienea lands of Cambo (Lapurdi) have been overturned to grow vegetables on May 17.
They want the 3.5 hectares of native land to stop for cultivation and in this struggle they have taken a step further this April 30. The agency Bouygues Immobilier has a project to build houses in these lands, which is also supported by the Casa del Pueblo de Canbo.
On May 17, at 11:00 a.m., two demonstrations will be launched from Cambo and the Sea (Lapurdi), because the integrity of the Marien lands is divided between the two peoples. "It will be an important moment of encounter, proclamation and celebration", according to the organizers, who have extended to all citizens the call to participate in the plantation. This action has been supported by the People We Want list of the opposition of the Council of the People of Canbo, the Collective of Associations for the Environment CADE and the EHZ festival.
With the presentation of their demands, the organizers wanted to show that they do not renounce the policies to guarantee the right to housing, but criticize that they have the direction adopted by the House of the People of Canbo: “We know that there are enough empty buildings in Kanbo to meet the need for housing for renovation, (...) but there is no ppolitical will to do so.”
This battle has been going on since 2014.
