Four Israeli soldiers are charged with war crimes in Belgian and Dutch courts
- Faced with the inaction and inability of international organizations, the newly created March 30 Movement first denounced Jonathan Ben Hamour, a Belgian Israeli soldier, and has now attacked four more soldiers and a settler.
Ronny Katz, Raouf Leeraar, Jisjai Bloemendaal and Abel Yanai Bolink have taken the lead against the Dutch Israeli soldiers. Belgian Librett Dyab Abou Jahjah of this group has pointed out that with these judicial initiatives being carried out in individual countries they want to put an end to the international impunity of the Israeli Army.
These allegations accuse these soldiers of having participated in genocidal actions against the Palestinian people and other serious crimes. According to Abou Jahjah, they have also denounced the Dutch Israeli settler Akiva van Koningsveld. Amnesty International has a comprehensive report on this settler showing that it has acted in various criminal activities in the West Bank, such as land and property theft, threats or non-compliance with the Dutch Arms and Ammunition Act.
The Movement of 30 March is currently working in Belgium and the Netherlands and, according to Abou Jahjah, other complaints and new legal channels are also being studied to bring to justice those who commit crimes against the Palestinian people.
