Israel announced in early May a plan aimed at “toughening” the offensive against Gaza and fully occupying the list, and has since confirmed what has been said: it has killed 50 people in the last 24 hours, of which about 30 were refugee shelters at a school in the city of Fahmi Al-Jarjawi in northern Gaza, after burning those who were there alive as a result of a bombing. Since the escalation of the offensive against the list in October 2023, Israel has killed at least 54,000 Palestinians, about 700 of them since last week’s Sunday.
Not only are the air strikes increasing, but also the famine suffered by the Palestinians on the list. In fact, on Tuesday, Tom Fletcher, head of Humanitarian Affairs at the United Nations, warned that if no humanitarian aid were received within the next two days, 14,000 Palestinian young children would die. Since it imposed a total blockade on 2 March, Israel has obstructed the entry of trucks carrying basic foodstuffs into the list until last Tuesday: The UN said that between Tuesday and Thursday, 90 trucks entered Gaza and another 105 were waiting at the border. Considering that the list is inhabited by 2.5 million Palestinians, and that before October 2023 500 trucks entered it every day, the number is insufficient.
The Gaza Government’s press office has released shocking data that 326 people have died since March due to lack of food and medicine. Of these, 58 died of destruntia, another 26 suffered from kidney disease and have not been able to adequately treat them. In addition, instead of the humanitarian assistance offered by both international organizations and States, Israel has demonstrated in recent days its intention to take control over the basic resources that arrive in Gaza: The United States announced last week the formation of the Humanitarian Organization for Gaza, which immediately received condemnation from both international humanitarian organizations and the UN. For example, Fletcher said that the organization would use famine as a “weapon of war” and that the amount of food on the list would be conditioned by “political and military objectives.”
Palestine calls for "concrete and effective measures"
To stop the attacks on Gaza and put an end to the “hell” that has been caused by the blockade of humanitarian aid, the popular Palestinian initiative called for “concrete and effective measures” in its appearance on Saturday. The Bellas Artes de San Sebastián met with representatives of different parties, trade unions and other actors, who announced that on Sunday 1 June they will hold a mobilization, since mobilizations are "the powerful tool that citizens have to fight injustices". In addition, having the summer at the door, Al-Quds anticipated that he is organizing a "complete plan", taking advantage of the festive context to turn agents into "anti-genocide actors".
Twenty countries meet in Madrid to discuss measures to put pressure on Israel
Representatives of twenty countries met in Madrid on Sunday to discuss the measures to be taken to put pressure on Israel, as well as to ratify them in the solution of the two states. Delegations from the member countries of the European Union, the Arab League and the Organization of the Islamic Conference OIC have come to the Spanish capital, and in statements made after the congresses, the Spanish Foreign Minister, José Manuel Albares, has proposed the suspension of the sale of arms to Israel. "The Palestinian people have the same right, the same right, to peace and security as the people of Israel," Albares proclaims, as well as the suspension of any EU trade agreement with Israel: "The Palestinian people must not be condemned to be a refugee people forever."
However, the report published by the Centre Delas on April 25 specifies that since the Israeli aggression against Gaza hardened in October 2023, the Spanish State has signed more than 40 contracts with arms companies with ties to Israel – Israeli companies, their subsidiaries in Spain or Spanish companies that are producing under Israeli licenses. In addition, the report reveals that the Spanish government, in addition to continuing to import Israeli weapons, has awarded Israeli security and defense companies "more public contracts than ever before": public contracts worth 1,041 million euros in total. In terms of imports of arms and ammunition from Israel to Spain alone, the value has been 36.7 million euros from October 2023 to February 2025.
I could have written about the invasion in the hooligan of Bilbao, but I live in a small village and I have not suffered. I could have written about Euskaraldia to thank those of you who have helped us not turn our backs on Euskaraldia, but that is not what the body asks of... [+]
