On April 1, writers, publishers and associations will meet at the sports club of Euskal Herria. In addition to the possibility of fighting books, book presentations and round tables will be held. The fair will be open from 10:00 to 19:00 hours and during that time you will be able to visit the exhibition of Alexander Chanier.
At noon, this year’s two winners, Amets Arzallus and Jean Duverdier, will receive the 2024 Congress Award. Arzallus will be awarded for his work in the field of journalists, bertsolaris and writers, and especially for his book Miñan. For his part, Duverdier will be awarded for his career as a cartoonist and illustrator, as well as for the creation of the character of the Lion King of the Baiona festivities.
The children's corner will be in the middle of the day. The reading will be musical by the company Kiribil.
2 April, professional day
There will be, among others, two conferences. Peio Uhalte, member of the Elkar bookstore, will offer a talk entitled 'History of the Northern Basque Country: the publication'. History Professor Claude Martínez (Iparralde) will offer a lecture by the historian general of the Basque Country.
There will be a round table. The diners will talk about the difficulties in documenting, teaching and transmitting knowledge of Iparralde's history. The round table, entitled Can I Write the Story of Iparralde?, consists of Xabier Itçaina, Maite Urmeneta, Bixente Irigarai and Philippe Etchegoyhen.
