HABE tests will be held this Friday at BEC in Barakaldo and due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the administration has taken special measures. No oral tests will be performed on students who want to reach levels B2, C1 and C2. This is an exceptional decision, as reported by the Vice-Ministry of Linguistic Policy of the Basque Government. Therefore, this year it will be the Euskaltegis who decide whether a student has enough oral level or not.
As the Basque Government explained to the newspaper Noticias de Gipuzkoa, if the oral tests were carried out in the usual way – taking into account all the security measures required by the coronavirus – it would not be feasible to hold the autumn call on time and would have to manage three calls by 2021.
However, the exemption will only apply in this call. Sources from the CAV Government have ensured that this year’s autumn tests, for example, will be carried out in the usual manner.
Therefore, a special measure in a special year: more people have been registered this year than in other years for the tests of the three levels. 12,161 people will pass the test in total. This increase is due to: In the CAE Administration there is a large number of Public Job Vacancies waiting for applicants to need a linguistic profile to access the plaza.
