LAB says some Bizkaia metal companies have decided to leave FVEM
- In view of the management that the Bizkaia metal management company is undertaking in the negotiation of the labour agreement, some companies have decided to leave FVEM, according to the Abertzale trade union. The fourth day the Ertzaintza has not rebelled against the strikers, and once again it has been the pickets and mass protests.
The one-week strike by the trade unions in the metal of Bizkaia has already brought some consequences. On the one hand, in production, the Mercedes-Benz plant in Vitoria announces to its employees that it will cease the chain for two days due to lack of supply. On the other hand, according to Iratxe Azkue, industrial manager of LAB in Bizkaia, the pressure inside the FVEM management company is increasing and some companies have decided to leave the association. The fourth day of strike, which is quieter than Wednesday, there has been no aggression by the Ertzaintza against the pickets, but there have been moments of tension, such as in the industrial estate of Zabalondo in Mungia. Asier Robles, in the URL 1 chronicle, says that strikers have prevented some workers from entering the workshops and despite the fact that the members of the strike committee have managed to enter the Arteche Group plant, have not allowed them to monitor the follow up of the strike.
The metal workers have again held a mass demonstration at noon, this time in Erandio. "We are still strong, but we believe the ball is on the FVEM roof," said CCOO member Unai Orbegozo.
