The City Hall of Gorliz has decided to conduct a popular consultation on the use of jeans at the festivities of Santiago de Compostela, after the platform Change.org has gathered almost 500 signatures to prevent ill-treatment. In this regard, EH Bildu has pointed out that "animal mistreatment is not a topic of debate", although the Abertzale coalition has decided to vote in favour of this consultation to take a step further in the elimination of these shows.
In the consultation to be held on 26 January, all persons over the age of 16 registered in Gorliz will be able to vote, the result of which will not be binding, although if the City Council decides against the result it will have to justify the reason for the consultation.
