Under the direction of Che Guevara, the Cuban revolutionaries launched an attack on the city of Santa Clara. The 3,900 soldiers of the dictator Batista waited surrounded by an armored train carrying weapons and reinforcements. However, the 340 rebels, by surprise, pulled out of the rail that was going to arrive and attacked the strategic positions of the city. After an all-day battle, the rebels seized the train’s guns and Batista soldiers surrender.
