Musika taldea: Humus
Diskoetxea: Bonberenea Ekintzak, 2016
The Humus Tolosarra group has returned to its origins. They started like three, they've also worked as quartets, and they've completed the last job as three. Natalia (voice and bass), Mantxi (guitar) and Aritz (drums) are the components of the group.
The songs on his last album are very strong. The melodies have been carefully crafted and have made a compact, raw, direct, accurate and consistent melody with Karlos Osinaga, in the Bonberenea study, in February of this year. The disc is the mirror of the force and intensity transmitted by the group in public performances. As their colleagues say, the stage is their place – with the previous album Saurius have made a long tour of over 40 performances – and they are eager to show their new work in public.
Humus's new work has a nice, elegant format. This is a four-track EP, which includes a 10-inch vinyl disc and a CD. The four songs can be heard on the vinyl disc and on the band's CD. Tzesné has done a great design job for them.
The content is also beautiful. Rock and post-hardcore are some of the touches that can be seen in the songs, but above all, the impetus and passion they have shown in the recordings. In the song Adorez, in addition, Juantxo Arakama, from the Glaukoma group, has sung a song of rap-metal cutting.
As in melodies, words reflect on forgiveness, courage, fear, dependence on others and other feelings or situations.
The team has extensive experience as it has a long history. Born in 1998, Adorez has published the following albums: Pulper (self-production, 2000), Agortzeke (self-production, 2002), Leihotik zai (Bonberenea Ekintzak, 2003), Leku (Bonberenea Ekintzak, 2008) and Saurius (Bonberenea Ekintzak, 2013).
Natalia and Mantxi are the guides. In recent years, the band has undergone some changes among its members, and it is the singer and guitarist who are working from the start. They've created their own melody from trial to trial, performance to performance, song to song and disco to disc, and they're tuning and improving that melody, because they know very well what they want to do.
