In the gay-friendly movement that I know well, for two decades EHGAM was the only organization in almost the entire Basque Country. This led to conflicts within the group, because there were different ways of understanding the struggle. It seemed that it would have been good if there were a number of associations with its scope and model of work. The groups that move in this field are very varied and innumerable (perhaps more than because they are many, because they are created and disappear continuously, but well). However, are we more effective than before? I, for my part, have doubts. Diversity is certainly beneficial, as long as it serves to learn from each other; if we respect each other, etc. Lgbtq… the field that wants to express endless alphabet soup is as varied as any other in society, and the fact that this reality is a reflection should be good. Experience has, however, shown us that many factors must be taken into account, that simple multiplication does not guarantee success in itself. As it does not guarantee the mere meeting. If we look at another area, that of politics, it will happen to us in the same way. The Basques have known a lot of Basque parties, and we have seen on many occasions how two parties have achieved worse results than if they had formed a separate coalition. What was believed to be a sum, in a way, a subtraction.
Mathematics tells us that one plus one is two, but, as we've seen, sometimes it doesn't, and less so in politics or sociology. The latest elections also show this: the supposed sum has become a multiplication.
For the viewer to have the feeling that magic has happened, mathematics is called the collection of tricks that are done using calculation and statistics. So was it Mathematics? No. There are no tricks here. As any sociologist or political scientist should be able to interpret, an increasing part of the people is enough! The result of these elections was nothing more than a sign of their desire to scream, a cry against the dozens of injustices historically committed by all the powers of Madrid, with the invaluable help of many here, especially in the last decade; a cry against the most basic human rights attacks.
Well, yes, it must be acknowledged that someone has used mathematics (and other much more astute tricks) to reach the Government of Vitoria, with minimal support from the population. But that's another issue.
Support for genocide
Within the State of Israel, there is considerable support for the latest operation. Haaretz has released the results of a survey conducted for the Pennsylvania State University, which shows that 82 percent of “Israelis” support the comprehensive... [+]
