20. Corrika makes her way from Otrório to Pamplona with the slogan 'Some'
- The 2017 Race was presented on November 9 in San Sebastian. The event, organized by the AEK, will take place from March 30 to April 9, via Orotio to Pamplona. Some will be the theme of the 20th edition. With the slogan they want to represent the diversity that is made up of different cultures, languages and worlds.
It has been 37 years since the first edition of the Corrica, starting on November 1, 1980, and in this 20th they want to pay tribute to the creators of the Corrica. The person in charge of the race, Asier Amondo, stressed that since the beginning of the action, it has become a “reference of the dialect, the Basque culture and the Basque language”.
At the press conference, the head of the AEK, Merche Movil, explained that the choice to do it in Basque is more firmly established in Basque society, but adding that it is necessary to continue promoting it among adults. According to Movil, this is the main task of the AEK in recent years.
Amondo explained the meaning of the motto Some: “On the road to the consolidation of Language, Culture, ‘One’ World, ‘you’ can also unite, so that you can experience your own linguistic richness and universal cultural diversity.”
