Álava has overcome the barrier, EH Bildu has been the most voted political force and has won eight seats in the Gasteiz Parliament. The surprise has not been great, as the results of recent years marked this trend. In these elections, the idea that Álava was the most precious gem was very present. The expected (desirable) scenario has been confirmed by most surveys and clues between friends. Survey, there was a special atmosphere throughout the CAPV: the will for change and the execution of the shoulder.

In Álava, not so long ago, the PP blue had a very important presence on the map. Also the greens of the PNV. Between them they covered almost the entire map. Historically, Álava has been very conservative, right. In the main institutions, PNV and PP have alternately prevailed, depending on the voter movement among them, but the bypass society was immersed in these parameters, in the desire to be at rest.

On the other hand, there have been spectacular and ephemeral phenomena in our country. We can create, soon it became the first force and painted the whole territory in purple. But soon, when things got calm, the water found its way again. On this occasion, the Confederal Left has decided to carry out the political butcher and the results are a sign of poor decision, and of the marginal existence of this area.

The color red (PSE) has kept his, mainly in Vitoria, but always subordinated to the PNV.

However, nothing is forever. I imagine EH Bildu in Álava as a background runner. It has been a political movement that has been growing over the last decade without major surprises. In several municipalities the green-Bildu started to give colour, especially in the north, in Llodio, Salvatierra, in the plains above N1, in rural areas and in small towns. The results of EH Bildu in Gasteiz in 2015 were spectacular, and it was the second strength after the PP. Last year, by a few votes, it was the second force in Álava and won in Vitoria. Last year was a milestone, almost unthinkable a few years ago. But not only the capital, but also the green-Bildu extended from Aramaio to Oyón. Yesterday Berde-Bildu occupied almost the whole country.

The tone and pulse of society do not vary from day to day. EH Bildu has been able to connect with all these illusions and with the majority of the components necessary to carry out the necessary political change: the impulse of the Basque Country, the gaze and passion of feminism, the struggles of the popular movement and of workers, the vindication of the struggle against Franco, the tenacity to plant the neofaxism, the initiatives of protection of the territory, the defense of public services, the collective illusion. Although Berde-Bildu has been completely opened, Álava has long been not a single color and, above all, no longer gray.

Yes, there is a sociological change in Álava, but to understand that change, listen to the concerns of the people and sincerely propose solutions to their problems, it is essential the capacity, the ordered attitude and the will to get tired. And there, in Álava, we go. Thus, yes, it can transform the capacity for real transformation through coherent political practices, into the force that is currently accumulating in the institutional arena in favor of change. So be it.
