The man who allegedly killed two employees of the U.S. Embassy in Israel early Thursday was arrested amid shouts of “liberating Palestine.” This is what Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called an anti-Semitic assassination: “For these neo-Nazis, ‘Palestine has been liberated’ is today’s ‘Heil Hitler’.” Netanyahu has targeted countries, especially Europeans, that have denounced the massacre in Gaza and the impeding of humanitarian aid, and has gone further than Foreign Minister Gideon Saar: He accuses them of inciting "anti-Semitism" and insists that this has led to the attack on Washington.

Almost two years after October 7, 2023, several international governments, including the European Union, have publicly stated that what is happening in Gaza is "terrible" and have asked Netanyahu to allow humanitarian aid to enter. These statements were condemned by the Isralego government at a press conference following the Washington attack, and Saar denounced that these international leaders have devoured "Palestinian terrorist propaganda": "Defamation of genocide, crimes against humanity and the killing of children opens the way for murderers."

In this situation, international reactions have matured rapidly. The attack has been condemned by the European Union and the United Kingdom, among others, and what happened has been defined as an "anti-Semitic act" by the British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer. He added: "We must eradicate anti-Semitism wherever it appears. As always, I want to express my solidarity with the Jewish community." Like Starmer, French Prime Minister Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz have taken the same path. The first steps have already been taken: France has increased its barbarity in places linked to the Jewish community.

Meanwhile, death and hunger

The bombs and the famine in Gaza have not ceased. On Thursday, at least 52 people were killed and a hospital warehouse in the city of Jabalia was bombed.

The UN warned on Tuesday that if no aid is introduced within 48 hours the risk of 14,000 children dying of hunger dutela.Nazioarteko has been pressured by some leaders, including UK Prime Minister Starmer, to allow humanitarian aid to enter Gaza.
