Just listen once to the black swan to find out what the Ibil Bedi are playing. Common and normal pop, no ornament, no effectisms. They will publish it on 26 February, but we have already had the opportunity to listen to it, and we have already heard it several times.

In an interview, Mark Speer of the Khruangbin group said he likes to think in the box instead of thinking about the out of the box. That is to say, take a path and always turn around without leaving it. This work by the Navarro group Ibil Bedi is very similar to the previous ones. They have travelled the same way, with no new developments or fractures to be highlighted. Yes, the songs are more elaborate or at least more forceful.

They could make a much more orderly production: for the battery to listen a little cleaner by disguising blows out of time and replacing these semi-tuned blows with scheduled sounds. Most Basque groups do so, concealing mistakes and representing what they are not, as if it were a radio mattress. But Ibai Osinaga himself, engraved by his teammate, has turned the work into a virtue and endowed the work with great naturalness and humility. Soul, some say.

In the letters they have shown their Don Osinaga and Amets Aranguren. They drive open reflection and tell their personal processes. The second most usual singular person in pop is the title most used, but not in the usual loving relationship of ni-eta-zu. More mature are word and theme selections, more elaborate images.

Osinaga, in a sound interview in ARGIA, asked for more criticism of his work in Basque. However, it can be a stone without eyes, to say with one end and to take it with the other. Too often against mail. We could say, for example, that the song Orain bat gara reminds us too much of the Heart of Tango (or other) by Doctor Deseo. In the final choirs of Lorerik Gabe they have gone easy and they have been too sweet, closer to the Donostian pop than to their own sunny land.

We have already said that. But they think more about the writer than about the group. Because the album is nice inside the pop box. A work of honesty, with many beautiful melodies. For the umpteenth time I have cared for a hypnotic song like Loreak or In hands of quiet and strong wood, with the outstanding collaboration of Anari Alberdi. And everybody else. Thanks to the road and Ibil Bedi!

PD: Warning to journalists, autotune is not new.
