Crowdfunding to revive the farmhouse Etxebarrie de Artea raises 7,000 euros
  • Members of the agroecological farmhouse Etxebarrie, located in Artea (Bizkaia), broadcast at the end of December the so-called SOS Deiak, for the fire of September, which burned the bread facility, one of the pillars of the life of the estate. They have now announced that they have raised 7,000 euros in crowdfunding and that they are building a bread baking worker for Euskal Herria.

"Thank you all of your heart! ", Etxebarri's baserritars have been written in a note for the people who have participated in the collection: "Crowdfunding is over and we have to say that it has been tremendous for us, thanks to all of you," he added. You raised 6,986€ that we didn't expect in any way. It is very satisfying for us that 126 people have driven and supported our project. This economic support makes progress much easier and, of course, the messages of solidarity strengthen us a great deal."

The Etxebarrie farmhouse, which supplies food to 150 families, is managed in a group, located in Artea, where agroecological food is produced. In 2010, several young people came together to work in agriculture, turning what was a pine monoculture into a place of healthy food production. Vegetables are made and distributed weekly through baskets. Its second activity is beekeeping, honey, propolia, the queens room and swarms for many other small beekeepers. The third pillar of the farmhouse is the production of bread, with a mother dough, organic flour and a wood kiln. This third leg has been in danger since it was burned in September by a fire.

"We feel sponsored," says Etxebarritars, "both economically, politically and ideologically. A few years ago, when we took the path of agri-ecological agriculture, we knew that it would not be easy, but we can say that we are happy, happy with the solidarity, the commitment, the friendship and the travelling colleagues that we are finding in this way. In addition to thanking you for this message, we invite you to the opening of the May 25 lava and your participation is important to us. Everything that is built among all will be enjoyed among all."

Since 2010, a group of young people have been working in agroecology to create food on this farm in Artea.
