The City Hall launched the management of the sports facilities on January 5. The linguistic profile was deleted from all places 2. From the Basque area of the region it is indicated that the hired personnel attend to the citizens, and because they do not have any linguistic profile, they do not have to know Basque, so the linguistic rights of the users will be violated.

The Council of Euskalgintza of Aiaralde has pointed out that this call for competition has established a single linguistic profile for the company. Under this obligation, documents and cards must be in Basque and Spanish, the Basque being a priority.

The Basque industry in the region denounces the City Hall recession: “In a context in which citizens are taking to the streets to denounce the judicial aggression against the Basque Country, such decisions are very painful. This setback seems serious to us.”

Amurrio City Council abolished the position of Basque technician

The PNV and the PSE govern the City Hall. On 27 July 2023, the abolition of the position of Euskera technician of the City Council was fully approved. After the pressure of the citizens and the Basque cultural activity, the implementation of a technician who would act 100% in Euskera a few days later was confirmed. The Basque cultural activity of the region took a good turn back. However, in the note published to denounce the decision of the sports facilities, it states that, according to the criteria of the Basque Government, four workers would be needed in the City of Amurrio in the matter of Euskera and now there is only one.
