Nurses at the mental illness hospital in the Irish city of Monaghan occupied the building and declared it sober. With the help of their residents, they asked for better working conditions and eliminate the wage gap between women and men. After two weeks of fighting, the sobieta was dismantled on 4 February, obtaining orders.

It was the first experience that was called a Soviet in Ireland and many more will come in the coming months.
