Informative disfocus
At the beginning of the course, the elections should be the main event on the UPV/EHU information agenda. At the School of Social Sciences and Communication, we also have a double appointment, as the assembly of our center will also be elected in October. It opens up the possibility of knowing and deciding among the different management models. A debate is also taking place on the part of a young researcher and collective teacher, after a year of mobilization in defense of their rights and, among other things, when generational change takes place.
Instead of focusing on this point, some have once again focused on a disfigured image, highlighting the conflictive image of the public university. In the previous days, instead of receiving the voices that denounced the homophobic, xenophobic, chauvinist, fascist attitude of a teacher from the university community, the conflict opened and the reflection of a group of students was diverted in the protest called against said collective.
Despite my familiarity, I was upset by the message. However, in the reply, which rejected hate speech, I realised that Basque society no longer devotes the bait so easily.
