Through music and dance, solidarity with Palestine in San Sebastian
- Organized by the Culturatik association, the Music and Dance with Palestine event took place in the Beautiful Parties at noon today. The aim has been to show solidarity with the Palestinian people and to call for an end to the genocide they are suffering. The event was held in collaboration with the School of Music and Dance of the City Council of San Sebastián and the Association of Music and Dance Schools of the Basque Country. In fact, they had to do it on January 25, but then they had to cancel it due to bad weather.
Oihana Maritorena, directed by Tessa Andonegi and Ainhoa Aierbe, has been a collective performance in which musicians and dancers have performed the touching song Hurtles of Palestine, composed by Juantxo Zeberio and Jon Elizalde, with the lyrics of Karlos Linazasoro.
Another of the main pieces has been the interpretation of the song Txoria txori by Mikel Laboa as “an anthem about freedom and connection with the people”. They also sang the song Up the Mountain with the lyrics of Xabier Amuriza and the music of Imanol Larzabal.
