Ciudad Juárez is known for murders against women. However, the Mexican state has taken the initiative of the Mexican state, which has such a bad reputation at the international level.

The year 2015 was one of the most violent in recent decades and the local government was forced to launch the Gender Violence Alert against Women for the first time. Non-governmental organizations believe that the alert has not fulfilled its mission and that the murder figures for 2015 have been far exceeded in 2016.

In 2017, 18 femicides have already occurred in the Mexican state. Mexfem (Citizen’s Observatory against Gender-Based Violence) points out that most of the murders have not been officially considered as femicides, despite the fact that the bodies of the victims show signs of sexual violence, wounds or cuts, and sometimes the bodies are exposed in public.
