Elizabeth Magie was born in the United States in 1866 and was the founder of Monopoly, however, the game has not been as popular.

Magie, who was rebellious and critical of the policy in force at the time, said El Salto. He began to write in a newspaper in order to denounce the state of dependence of the woman. “Women are not machines. We have the brain, the desires, the hopes and the ambitions,” he said.

Aware of the misery that existed in the United States in the 19th century, in 1904 he invented the game to combat capitalism. The one who has obtained the most assets wins the game, leaving the rest of the players with the least amount of money possible. He explained that the objective of the game was to make visible the imbalances that exist in the system.

The game became very popular among university students of left-wing ideology.

The patent was later purchased by the trademark Parker Brothers and marketed under the name Monopoly. In addition, Magie's name was hidden and it was revealed that the creator of the game was Darrow.
