Baztan's alternative rock quartet released in 2019 Ihesi Joan of Animals, and since the pandemic came it has been silent. So far. Her sixth work will be Deus (Usopop, 2024). They have published the first Single, Egia, begira, to be released on November 11.
Of mole without acting with tino. The Navarro group Kaskezur has pulled the head out of the cave, after five years of silence, as if nothing happened during that time (pandemic! ). The need to lock up at home also led to the practical stop of Kaskezur and the camels – the image on the front of the previous album. But they weren't completely reassured. Mendia has participated in the song for the 1976 documentary that premiered in Bilbao two years ago.
Once forced listening is over, it is clear that the world remains the same – or worse – as does Kaskezur’s non-conformism. The first theme, which I was looking inwards, was: “Nothing is nothing and it is something. We are also something and we are nothing.” They have explained this in the press release and have also made more distorted reflections: “How to explain what this collection of songs is or is not? We keep playing forever.”
In the style of always, but not the same as always. There are things that have changed since the first steps were taken in 2008. For example, if from the album Azpisugeak (Mukuru, 2017) they go to Ihesi -era (Mukuru, 2019) the sounds became more transparent, as Gorka Bereziartua picks up in this interview, they now take a step further along that path. This is clearly noted in the song of progress Egia, begira, of the new album of Deus (Usopop, 2024). A faithful listener of good memory – or look on the net – will take the look of the end of the song Animals from the previous album. However, hearing both of them successively, he soon realizes that the voice has a different tone, that it is more clearly recorded, but that, although it is different, the violent character is still there.
We have not lost the opportunity, the one of life / We have not lost even the one of living. With these words the song Egia begira begins, but it has in front of it a choir of woman who, with good bigrs, sings a message that transcends the statement: How to lose the opportunity, life / How to lose it, life. Then they sing, the decisions are zero, the repentance afterwards, and they say to the efforts and actions of the past: What we did is more than we're going to do. And there, in the empty space where thought doesn't come. The truth, look at me. The truth, look at me.
The claim to move forward “without fear”, because they have nothing to lose, “and although we lose nothing, the same”. That said, the group has recovered the cry of the previous album “Buztinezkoa”, “free, natural, continuous and itinerant”.
Deus, in the light of 11 November
Kaskezur comes renovated, as in addition to her new album, Deus is her first record job alongside the Usopop record. Usopop is the editor, among others, of the Haira, Rüdiger and Bananas groups.
Kaskezur will have its sixth record. After inventing the Azpisugeak key and finding the stability of Ihesi Aves, slowly and with the same line, they have put details on the disc.
The group's usual quartet was in the recording in early June. In total, there will be eight songs, in addition to the song of progress Egia begira, the following: The theory of shame, Heldu eta badoa, Sale, Algorithm, Disaster, We were the day before yesterday and We got to the border.
