Israel has signed a letter with the aim of paying more attention to Iran's "threat" and of continuing the massacre in Gaza, as Benjamin Netanyahu has acknowledged, as well as moving Hamas away from Hezbollah. The troops of the Israeli allies will "assure" that the agreement is being complied with in southern Lebanon, and Israel will "react strongly" if Hezbollah attacks Tel Aviv.
The authorities have announced this Tuesday that they are stopping for 60 days the conflict between Israel and the Shia militia of the party in Lebanon Hezbollah. Menia is a proposal from the United States that provides for the withdrawal of Hezbollah and the Israeli army from southern Lebanon to allow the Lebanese Army to spread there. This has been confirmed by Netanyahu at a conference to the nation. The Lebanese Army will be joined by forces from the United States, France and other allies in southern Lebanon to ensure compliance with the agreement. According to Biden, mint has entered into force at 4 a.m. this Wednesday.
Netanyahu has clarified that he has accepted the ceasefire to pay more attention to Iran's "threat", because Tel Aviv troops were suffering casualties in southern Lebanon, which will allow him to repatriate. He has also explained that he has acted with the aim of isolating Hamas from Hezbollah, in order to further isolate the Palestinian resistance. Thus, the Israeli Prime Minister stressed that Israel is going to intensify its offensive against the Gaza Strip.
Netanyahu has warned that Israel has "total freedom for military action" and that even if the ceasefire is agreed "it will respond harshly" if Hezbollah attacks Israel: “If he continues to commit terrorist acts near the border, we will attack him. If the agreement is broken and a tunnel is cleared or missiles are brought, it will be attacked," he warned.
The Israeli Minister of Homeland Security and Ultra-Right Itamar Ben-Gvir were against accepting the menia proposed by the United States and was the only one who voted against the agreement, against ten other members of the cabinet. On Wednesday morning, in statements to Kan, he said that "it means losing a historic opportunity" to agree a ceasefire with Hezbollah. Nor did they agree with the acceptance of the truce by the mayors of some of the towns bordering the border with Lebanon. The Mayor of Metula, in northern Israel, David Azulay, has assured that the northern region of Israel will not be "a safe space".
The end of the Syrian Arab Republic has caused great surprise at the way in which it has taken place: fast and almost without resistance. However, it is not so strange when we consider that the country was destroyed, impoverished and trodden. Most Syrians have long been... [+]
