Vietnamese Buddhist priest Thich Quang Duc sat on the ground, got wet with gasoline and committed suicide in Saigon

Vietnamese Buddhist priest Thich Quang Duc sat on the ground, got wet with gasoline and committed suicide in Saigon. Previously, the problems increased due to the political weight that the right-wing government of South Vietnam gave to the Catholic minority, supported by the United States, in a country where 80% of the population was Buddhist. A month earlier, in the city of Hue, the government shot down a Buddhist demonstration and caused eight deaths. The Buddhist priest died without making complaints, whose images turned around the world.
