The Soviet Union, the United States and the United Kingdom signed the Partial Nuclear-Test-Ban Agreement in Moscow. It prohibited nuclear tests in the atmosphere, in space and under the sea, allowing them to bury them. Its aim was, in addition to reducing arms competition, to reduce pollution caused by nuclear tests.
